Coaches
This is Matt Wion's second season as the UAHS Girls' Varisty Volleyball Coach. Previously, Matt has coached for four seasons in the Upper Arlington School district including the UAHS Boys' Varsity Volleyball Team. He has also served as a USA Volleyball Official at the club level for 9 years. Matt attended Ohio University where he played competitive club volleyball for 3 years and earned two degrees including a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. Matt is currently teaching 8th Grade American History at Hastings Middle School.
This is Ashley Pond's second season as the UAHS JV volleyball coach. Prior to coaching at UA, Ashley was the 7th grade volleyball coach with Grandview Heights City Schools. She was a member of the UAHS volleyball team from 1996-2000 where she played as a defensive specialist and outside hitter. She was recruited to play Division III volleyball after high school but decided to attend a large school instead. It was then that Ashley put her volleyball career aside to attend The Ohio State University. In 2004, she graduated from OSU with a degree in Economics. Currently, Ashley works as an HR Account Manager for Fortune Business Solutions in New Albany.
Tyler Conley is very excited to begin his second season as Upper Arlington’s Freshman Girls' Volleyball coach. Tyler graduated from Fairfield High School in Cincinnati in 2005 where he played volleyball for three years and was a varsity letter winner for his final two seasons. In July of 2009, Tyler married his high school sweetheart, Katie. He graduated from Ohio State in March of 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus in Sport and Leisure Studies. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family, and attending Ohio State athletic events including working in the press box for the OSU football games where he operates the scoreboard.
